Who are we? thenumber creative is a team of people who share common interests of DIY projects, good deals, beer, Helvetica, artisan goods, pizza, sleep, coffee and Talking Heads. We could tell you more about ourselves, but this isn’t a dating profile (chat us up on PlentyOfFish for that). Suffice to say we like to work hard, hang out a bit, make cool stuff, and have fun doing it.

Chris Nohr

Since graduating from computer camp 1987, Chris Nohr has pursued a diverse career in creative technology. Chris spent 12 years as a freelance professional spanning many disciplines including technician, programmer, designer, strategist and marketer. In this time he gained expertise in programming, graphic design, marketing and business development. Five years ago chris and his partner incorporated thenumber creative with the goal of providing affordable creativity and technology to local businesses. Chris directs the development of thenumber, and provides oversight on all projects.

Aaron Bergunder

Aaron began his creative media training while still in high school, nerding out in the computer labs during lunch hours and voraciously learning as much design software as possible. He continued his education to proudly drop out of Computer Science at the University of Victoria, and eventually earn an Applied Communication diploma from Camosun College. He napped at his desk at a publishing company for a few months after college, but soon left that to pursue musical endeavours on the road. Unfortunately, Aaron’s bands are only mediocre and don’t pay the bills, so thenumber stretched out its charitable arms and welcomed him to the family in February 2010 as a jack-of-some-trades. Aaron feels like a grown-up now.

Scott Milligan

As a child, Scott played frequently with Pantone graphic pens on his father’s giant metal drafting table. He got his big break in 1996, when he commissionned himself to produce a series of replica medals for his olympics-themed birthday party. The medals didn’t show up on any ‘blogs’, but may have appeared on a few ‘logs’, because it was an outdoor party. Scott has spent many hours thinking hard about graphic design and visual communication. He’s now designing and developing internet websites, which, for better or for worse, involves a whole lot more than plaster of paris and metallic spraypaint.

Chris Long

Chris Long has worn many hats throughout his first decade living in Victoria. As a musician, DJ, promoter and tastemaker, the reach of his influence extends across many facets of Victoria’s diverse social pallet. Outside of music, he’s worked in a multitude of fields, from editorial work and coordinating events, to inventory and retail management. At thenumber, Chris ensures communication is an easy, transparent process where projects are clearly understood from day one. He monitors schedules and timelines to ensure that expectations are met and deadlines are nailed. Chris’ passion for simple creative solutions alongside his strong communications skills means that from the get-go, we’ll be working together to find practical solutions to best fit your needs.

Mark Garrison

Mark recently rejoined the ranks of thenumber creative after spending a year circling the globe as a jetset-hobo. Mark loves making things, learning things, and understanding things. He began his professional life by studying audio engineering and ran a small recording studio for a time before doing a stint in art school and focusing his efforts on graphic design. He has written for a variety of blogs on the subjects of recording, design, business, and productivity and is the author of the Encyclopedia of Home Recording, a reference book for the home recording studio.
